The Hollywood actor David Soul, was known for his exceptional performance in the 1970s show Starsky & Hutch. The actor passed away at the age of 80, his wife Helen Snell confirmed the news with a media outlet.
The actor took his last breath on the 4th of January. In a statement released by his wife, she wrote, “David Soul, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family.”
She added, “He shared many extraordinary gifts with the world as an actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend. His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.”
The actor’s original name is David Solberg and was born to Richard Solberg, who was a political science professor. The actor then relocated to Berlin.
David Soul loved to play baseball and was an incredible player. When he graduated from high school, he was allowed to play with the Chicago White Sox. Later on, the actor decided to move to Mexico with his family as his father has been a professor there.
The actor’s acting career dates back to the 1960s when he joined the Firehouse Theatre in Minnesota. David was best known for his work in the 1970s US popular show.
Soul played the role of detective Ken Hutch and was accompanied by Paul Michael Glaser, who portrayed the role of detective David Starsky in the famous series Starsky & Hutch. The show aired from 1975 to 1979 on ABC.
David was also part of many spectacular movies such as Magnum Force, The Hanoi Hilton and had a cameo performance in the remake of Starsky & Hutch.
