Sienna Miller recently shared a delightful story from the set of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, where she plays Frances Kittredge, a character in this epic Western film. During filming, Miller’s daughter Marlowe visited the set and was enamored by the abundance of animals roaming around amidst the period costumes, making it an ideal playground for kids.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Miller revealed the charming tale of how her daughter ended up with a new furry friend. It turns out, the film’s director of photography, J. Michael Muro, and his wife had brought along a litter of baby rabbits one night during shooting. Excited by the news of baby bunnies, Marlowe persuaded her mom to adopt one. Miller fondly recalled the moment, “My daughter then comes to the set and hears that there are baby rabbits, so we now have a rabbit.”
She affectionately named the bunny Cloudy and managed to bring it all the way back to New York, using a bit of creativity to ensure the rabbit’s safe journey home. “I pretended it was a cat. I just hid the ears. I was like, that’s my kitten,” Miller laughed as she recounted the adventure.
Reflecting on her experience working with Kevin Costner on the film, Miller expressed her admiration for the Hollywood icon, reminiscing about how she eagerly accepted the role when Costner personally invited her to join the project. Having grown up watching Costner’s classics like Dances with Wolves, Miller felt honored to collaborate with someone she viewed as a cinematic legend.
Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 explores the allure of the Old West, portraying the expansion of America before and after the Civil War. Alongside Miller, the film features a talented cast including Sam Worthington, Danny Huston, and Abbey Lee, promising a captivating cinematic journey through historical landscapes and human drama.
Miller’s anecdote about adopting Cloudy adds a whimsical touch to her involvement in the film, highlighting both the familial atmosphere on set and the unexpected joys that come with filmmaking. As Horizon continues to unfold, Miller’s portrayal of Frances Kittredge and her daughter’s newfound pet rabbit remain endearing reminders of the magic behind the scenes.
