Shia LaBeouf, a Hollywood actor, has joined the cast of Francis Ford Coppola’s planned epic movie “Megalopolis,” which is expected to cost $100 million. Variety claims that early this month, rumours started to circulate that the contentious actor was considered a key role in Coppola’s passion project. Now that LaBeouf’s casting has been established, filming may start this autumn. Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Grace VanderWaal, Kathryn Hunter, and James Remar are also set to appear in the film, which also stars Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, and Laurence Fishburne.
Cappola wrote the screenplay for this movie in the 1980s. The narrative is purportedly set in ‘New Rome,’ an alternate reality counterpart of New York City. The premise has mainly remained a mystery.
The official logline for the movie, however, teases some brand-new information: “In this epic saga of political ambition, creativity, and tormented love, the destiny of Rome haunts a modern world unable to overcome its own societal issues.” When artist FKA Twigs, his former love interest, filed a lawsuit against him in 2020 for sexual violence, assault, and infliction of mental distress, LaBeouf was all but banned from Hollywood.
When artist FKA Twigs, his former love interest, filed a lawsuit against him in 2020 for sexual violence, assault, and infliction of mental distress, LaBeouf was all but banned from Hollywood. Throughout the couple’s one-year relationship in 2018 and 2019, the complaint cited several instances of physical abuse, with the singer alleging LaBeouf once almost choked her to death.
Abel Ferrara’s “Padre Pio,” which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival’s Venice Days segment later this summer, will feature LaBeouf, who hasn’t appeared in a Hollywood movie since. Recent claims by director Olivia Wilde that the actor was let off from “Don’t Worry Darling” were refuted by the actor.
