Shannen Doherty is demonstrating remarkable resilience. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star has opened up about her turbulent journey, revealing the immense challenges she faces simultaneously. Amid her ongoing cancer treatment, Doherty discovered her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko’s infidelity, which ultimately ended their 11-year marriage.

Currently, Doherty is navigating the choppy waters of their divorce while claiming to have moved past the betrayal. However, she is still grappling with financial difficulties, largely due to hefty medical bills and attorney fees.

In a revealing episode of the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast with Kelly Ripa on June 26, Shannen Doherty, 53, candidly discussed the hardships she has endured over the past nine months. After learning about her photographer husband’s infidelity, Doherty found herself in a deep depression and struggled to recover.

“I was in a very dark place for about nine months after discovering his betrayal,” the Heathers star confessed. She pointed out that the discovery came shortly after she had brain surgery, compounding the difficulty of the situation.

Doherty shared that she has recently reached a point of emotional detachment from her ex-husband. “I’ve finally reached a place where I have zero feelings for him,” she stated. However, the ongoing divorce proceedings continue to hinder her ability to fully move on.

When discussing the possibility of new romantic relationships, Doherty admitted she’s not ready to date yet, as the wounds are still fresh. “It’s still so hard and raw,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Doherty has faced infidelity in her relationships, but she emphasized that her husband’s affair was particularly painful given their lengthy marriage.

The divorce battle has taken an ugly turn, with Doherty accusing Iswarienko of waiting for her to die from cancer to avoid paying spousal support. According to court documents, Iswarienko enjoys a lavish lifestyle, flying in private planes, indulging in medical spas, and shopping for luxury brands like Gucci.

Meanwhile, Doherty, who is battling stage 4 breast cancer, faces mounting medical bills and draining legal fees. She described Iswarienko’s actions as “unjustified,” highlighting his lack of responsibility towards his “dying wife of more than 11 years.”

Due to her health issues, Doherty has been unable to work, resulting in a significant decrease in her income. After filing for divorce in 2023, she requested spousal support of $15,434 monthly. Iswarienko’s reported earnings in the past three years were just shy of $700,000, according to People.

Despite these trials, Doherty continues to show immense strength, navigating both her health battles and personal upheavals with courage and determination.
