Recently, Ryan Reynolds announced that he will be taking a break from his work in order to focus more on his kids. At the Los Angeles premiere of his Netflix film Red Notice, which he co-starred in with Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson, the actor talked about why he wants to take a break from acting and how he wants to spend more time with his family.

“For me, it’s really about getting some quality time with my kids before they’re teenagers who loathe me,” said Reynolds, talking to Entertainment Tonight from the movie’s red carpet. Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have three kids together: James, 6, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2.

In the WSJ Innovater Awards 2021, Ryan Reynolds gave a heartfelt speech, appreciating his wife, Blake Lively for who she is and for driving him in the positive direction of work. The actor praised his wife as a “genius” and a “renaissance lady” in his speech, praising her for pushing him to work harder and always being supportive.

Ryan’s hiatus from movies will come after his tremendously successful release Free Guy, which became one of the biggest grossing pictures during the epidemic. The actor took to Instagram to announce his break,  “Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”

Right now, Ryan Reynolds is to wrap up the shooting of his upcoming film, Spirited along side Will Ferrell.
