Rockmond Dunbar has been roped in for the limited series on Peacock, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, which is executive produce and starred by Kevin Hart. The role marks Rockmond’s first acting job since he was laid off from 9-1-1 in 2021, for not complying with studio’s norms regarding COVID-19 vaccine after his requests for a medical and religious exemptions were rejected.

The actor subsequently filed a $1 million lawsuit against Disney over his firing, with the case now being headed to trial.

Speaking of the limited series, it tells the infamous story of how an armed robbery at the night of Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight, did not only change the life of one man, but an entire city’s destiny.

Rockmond has joined the star cast, which includes Kevin, Samuel L. Jackson, and Terrence Howard. He will be playing the role of Uncle Willie, who owns an autobody shop but his real job is at the top fence in the area.
