Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile, co-stars from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, are about to become neighbors in their New Jersey community. Melissa revealed this intriguing development on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, hinting at potential tensions due to past feuds involving her husband Joe and Kathy, who happens to be Joe’s cousin.
“They are building a house diagonal from me — across the street — on my street,” Melissa shared during the show, humorously noting the trend of family members moving into their vicinity, including her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice who previously moved across the street.
The discovery of Kathy’s upcoming move was somewhat unexpected. According to Melissa, Joe stumbled upon a lot for sale while driving through the area. Intrigued, he was ready to make a bid but soon learned that Kathy had a connection to the property.
Kathy, who appeared on The Real Housewives of New Jersey from 2010 to 2016, had a contentious relationship with Teresa Giudice, which led to her departure from the show. Melissa and Joe sided with Teresa during that time, but Melissa hinted at the possibility of reconciliation now that they will be living in close proximity.
“I do think that he regrets, you know, he did what he had to do at the time to back his sister up and do what he had to do, but I really think he enjoyed Kathy,” Melissa explained. She revealed that Joe and Kathy had a positive relationship before their disagreements surfaced.
Melissa expressed empathy for her husband, describing him as emotional and someone who has struggled with family dynamics. “He felt like he had to please people his whole life and, you know, you never know what people [go through], how people grew up or what went on in life,” she added.
As they prepare to become neighbors, Melissa hinted at the possibility that Joe might want to reconnect with Kathy and her husband Richard. Despite past conflicts, Melissa remains hopeful that living in close proximity might pave the way for healing and renewed relationships.
