Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not attend King Charles’ first official birthday celebration.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be present at Saturday’s significant royal function. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not invited to Trooping the Colour, the annual commemoration of the birthday of the British monarch.
The event will take place for the first time during King Charles’ reign. While Queen Elizabeth was on the throne, it was known as the Queen’s Birthday Parade. Despite Prince Harry’s renowned military past, British Army units will participate in the procession. After being unable to perform during the crowning in May due to inclement weather, the Royal Air Force is planning a spectacular flypast.
The pair, who have been living in California since leaving the royal family in 2020, returned to the UK for Trooping the Colour last year. They and other royals observed the march from a room overlooking Horse Guards march. This event was part of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, which honoured her seven decades on the queen.
