Black is the new sexy, but for millennials out there, sexy is watching popular series. That doesn’t make sense, but everything seems logical when you get along with the stories and engage with the characters and sometimes, you even start behaving like one (I am definitely Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S, a clean freak!).
You cry with them, you laugh at their stupidity and feel rage when someone betrays them. But how much betrayal would you feel if someone told you that your favourite series got almost canceled! Not a Bazinga! We are true to you, that’s why here we present five shows that almost got canceled. Oh! Grow up Leonard, don’t cry already. First hear it out.
1. F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Are you a crazy f.r.i.e.n.d.s fan? Are you someone who knows each episode’s name along with their storyline? Well almost every person who is a sitcom fan, must have seen this show and adored it’s character. But little did you know that when the pilot episode was shown to a sample audience, they didn’t connect to the characters and thought that their friendship was not genuine! Phoebe just rolled her eyes!
2. Big Bang Theory
It all started with a Big Bang and never got to an end because Sheldon got a permanent spot in all of our hearts. It’s unbelievable to think that this show got almost canceled when it’s pilot episode was shown to the audience as the makers thought that such a show would never be popular. This show not only got popular, but topped the charts in best sitcom series. Penny laughed from across the hall! Ouch she is loud!
3. Game Of Thrones
If you haven’t seen this one, probably people are going to judge you so badly. This magnum opus, which broke all the possible records out there, was once at the verge of not being made. HBO did not like the pilot episode and regarded it as ‘disjointed’, so the makers reshot the whole episode, shuffled the cast and presented it again. The iconic characters and mind-bending story hit right through our souls. And the rest is history!
4. Breaking Bad
Fans of this show could never stop praising the deadly punch of crime, drama and science that it provided them for years. Breaking bad instantly became a household name and everybody got hitched with this show. But do you know, that the first channel it was pitched to, rejected the show because they already had too many anti-hero leads. But AMC saw it’s potential and well, that’s a thumbs down for the channel that rejected this amazing show!
5. Desperate Housewives
Well, if you adore Desperate Housewives, then it will be heart breaking for you to know that the show got cancelled as HBO initially wanted to give more time to Sex and the City and many other platforms rejected the show as well. But a ray of hope came for the producers when ABC decided to take it up!
So, these were some of the shows that almost got canceled but didn’t and we can’t be thankful to the almighty for saving the best for us! A little dramatic? That’s fine Chandler can handle it!
