After seven years of marriage, Sofia Vergara of “Modern Family” and Joe Manganiello have divorced. “We have decided to get a divorce, which was painful. We respectfully request that our privacy be respected at this time as we traverse this new stage of our lives as two people who deeply love and care for one another.
2015 saw the union of Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara. The ‘Justice League’ star revealed last year how he gained a “head-start” on meeting Vergara. At the podcast “The Jess Cagle Show,” Manganiello explained how he managed to win over “Modern Family” star Vergara.

On the podcast, the “Spider Man” actor revealed that Vergara caught his eye for the first time at the 2010 MTV Music Awards ceremony. However, their first proper conversation occurred at the White House Correspondents Dinner four years later.
Despite the fact that Vergara was then engaged to businessman Nick Loeb, Manganiello persisted in making the introduction.

Manganiello admitted that it was Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who was Vergara’s co-star in ‘Modern Family’ “brought her over” to him.
“Jesse Tyler Ferguson brought her over to me and made her say ‘Hi’ to me or something. I was like, ‘Hi… how’s it going? Like your fiance’s over there, what are you doing right now?'” recalled the actor.
To Manganiello’s luck, Vergara and Loeb split up shortly after. Manganiello reminisced about a time when Cagle was about to announce the news of Vergara and Loeb’s breakup to the public and wrote an email to Manganiello with the subject line, “We’re about to…”
“And that’s what I needed. I had a head start,” shared Manganiello.
Manganiello added that in order to take Vergara on her first date, he flew to New Orleans where she was filming for “Modern Family.”
