Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in a sparkling Schiaparelli silhouette at the Met Gala 2024, which took place on May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Jennifer, who co-chaired the Met Gala 2024 with Zendaya, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, made an appearance on the green and white carpet.
JLo’s gown was an ideal fit for the sparkling queen who knows how to command a room. She characterised the extravagant showpiece piece as a transparent dress embellished with 2.5 million silver bugle beads.
Daniel Roseberry, Schiaparelli’s creative director, developed the garment, which features four gigantic butterfly wings that cover the entire surface of the dress.
According to celebrity stylist Mariel Haenn, “More than flowers, the butterfly represents metamorphosis.” Transformation. Something that was dormant but now rises magnificent, powerful, and fresh.”
The precise design and portrayal of butterfly wings was consistent with the exhibition’s theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
“The butterfly is an outstanding example of a sleeping beauty. Something that sleeps and wakes up attractive can exist in a garden even if it is not a flower.
“The butterfly and the concept of metamorphosis have been part of Schiaparelli’s DNA since the beginning,” explains Mariel.
The structured bodice, reminiscent of butterfly wings, and the train, which added drama to Jennifer’s style, made this into a beautiful work of art for the Met Gala 2024. Jennifer wore diamond jewellery from Tiffany & Co.
