Clay Gravesande and Amber Desiree seemed confident as they headed up to the altar despite of all their ups and downs.
Spoiler Alert: If you are yet to watch all 12 episodes of Love Is Blind season 6, you might want to proceed with caution.
Love Is Blind is no stranger to shocking altar moments, however this one tops all other. After a season of ups and downs, real estate broker Amber and enterprise sale and entrepreneur Clay appeared to be all-in with one another.
In the pods, Clay broke down in tears in men’s lounge while opening up about his feelings throughout the process.
“I feel like I am getting better, and I want to be better for you,” Clay assured Amber in the pods, and she agreed.
Their connection only intensified when they met one another in person. He also admitted of his nervousness towards his ability of staying faithful to Amber, since he did not have that example growing up.
Another difficulty faced by the couple was Clay’s full-time job, which made AD ask him if he was really interested into investing the time in their relationship. But thanks to the support of their respective family, the couple seemed to be willing to give things a try.
In the newly released wedding episode of season 6, the couple each got ready for their big altar moment. They both seemed pretty certain that they would be married by the end of the day.
However, a conversation with his father, who has been unfaithful to his mother, ahead of the ceremony seems to have changed the scenario.
At the altar, AD went first and said, “I do,” and then Clay dropped the bomb.
“AD, I love you. I don’t think it’s responsible for me to say, ‘I do.’ But I want you to know I’m rocking with you… I know fully I’m not ready for marriage,” he said.
The bride left the altar in shocked and called the experience a “waste of my f–king time.”
In a separate interview with Clay, he said that he did not understand AD’s finances and was not “deeply in love” with his fiancee.
He approaches AD with assurance that he’s not rejecting her as it was just a “game-time decision” and would like to continue his relationship with her. But AD say she’s “done” as she works through the heartbreak of Clay’s altar decision.
