Kate Hudson shared some interesting insights about her dating life during an appearance on the Call Me Daddy podcast. She opened up about a period in her 30s when she took a year off from dating. During this break, many men from the entertainment industry tried to get her attention by sending her direct messages (DMs). Hudson mentioned that while she appreciated the effort, there were so many messages that it became hard to keep track.
She also talked about needing to take a break from flirting altogether. Eventually, Hudson met Danny Fujikawa, and the two have been engaged since 2021.

In another interview on What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Hudson revealed that she received a lot of DMs from celebrities during her dating hiatus. When Cohen asked about the men who tried to connect with her, Hudson said, “Oh yeah. It’s a great way to meet people and a nice ego boost. But I had a ton [of DMs]. I love to flirt, which is why I needed that year off from flirting. Now, it’s all behind me.”
Hudson also discussed her engagement to Danny Fujikawa and emphasized not wanting to repeat past relationship patterns. She shared that taking a three-year break from dating helped her better understand her relationship with Fujikawa.

Hudson couldn’t stop praising her fiancé, describing him as a wonderful man with solid values. She explained, “I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate him if I hadn’t taken those three years to enjoy being single and happy on my own.”
Hudson and Fujikawa sparked dating rumors in 2017 after being seen kissing. They made their relationship official in 2020 when Hudson told People Magazine, “He makes me feel beautiful every single moment of the day, even when we’ve had disagreements.”
Before meeting Fujikawa, Hudson was married to Chris Robinson for seven years.
