Kanye West hinted that he will be going away from Instagram in his final Instagram post on Tuesday (April 18). The Instagram deactivation page with the confirmation on temporarily wiping accounts pulled up was posted in the post by the Donda musician. Ye quickly acted and shut down his well-liked account after sharing the article.
Kanye’s Instagram account was shut down in March of last year for breaking the terms of service including hate speech, bullying, and harassment. Ye was suspended after making many posts criticising Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend.
Ye was also banned from Twitter in 2022 as a result of his anti-Semitic remarks. Elon Musk, a multibillionaire businessman who gained control of Twitter in November 2022, lifted the prohibition. At the same month, there was news that Ye was in negotiations to buy the prominent right-wing commentator Candace Owens’ husband George Farmer’s conservative social media company Parlor. The agreement, however, was broken.
As he was in the midst of his infamous run of posting anti-Semitic remarks on social media, Kanye returned to being active on Instagram last winter. Ye left Instagram after receiving criticism and came back last month with a perplexing post.
Kanye West recently made headlines when it was revealed that his 2024 presidential campaign is in disarray due to internal strife inside his inner circle with staff members turning against one another.
