Jamie Foxx is set to return as the villain Electro in Tom Holland‘s Spiderman series. The move will supposedly integrate ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ series with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to a report of The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is in ‘final talks’ to return as Electro in the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spiderman. Electro was first introduced in the 2nd and last installment of the Andrew Garfield series. The movie bombed at the box office, causing Sony to sign a deal with Marvel after which both the universes were united. The report further added that all of the main cast from the Marvel series would be reprising their roles, including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Marisa Tomei. Jon Watts, who directed the previous two installments, will be directing the third as well.
The Sony hack of 2014 had revealed that Andrew Garfield was fired from the role. Sony now has moved on to a new Marvel universe, creating a series of movies based on the Villains from Spiderman. The universe kick-started with the successful movie ‘Venom’ starring Tom Hardy in the titular role.
