Gunn made it crystal clear that neither he nor any other bigwig at the studio spilled any beans about the movie’s supposed logline. So, those claims about Superman soaring through 2021? Totally off-base, folks.
In a sassy rebuttal to fan queries, Gunn dropped the bomb: “Nope, not the case.” But wait, there’s more! Speaking to the press in 2023, Gunn hinted, “Sure, there’s a nugget of truth in there (mostly stuff I’ve blurted out before).”
He went on, “But let’s set the record straight—I wouldn’t describe the plot like that, and Clark? Not some cub reporter, okay? This dude’s a seasoned thirty-something journalist. By the by, we’re gearing up for a March shoot. Huge shoutout to our tireless crew who’ve weathered strikes and setbacks. Without their hustle, we’d be saying ‘see ya’ to July 2025.”
DC’s head honcho also spilled the tea on Rachel Brosnahan’s screen test with leading man David Corenswet. Gunn gushed, “Exactly one year ago, sparks flew when David and Rachel read for Clark and Lois. It was pure magic.”
