Theo James and Kaya Scodelario are gearing up to reprise their roles as Eddie Halstead and Susie Glass in the second season of The Gentlemen. The popular Netflix series, which debuted on March 7, 2024, has captivated viewers with its engaging plot and the strong chemistry between its lead characters.
Although the full cast list for the new season hasn’t been announced yet, it’s confirmed that Guy Ritchie will be both writing and directing the upcoming episodes, with Matthew Read also joining as a writer. Fans can look forward to eight new episodes, with filming set to start next year.
In the first season, Eddie Halstead, played by James, discovers that Susie Glass and her father are deeply involved in the cannabis business. Eddie’s mission to free his family from dangerous criminals leads him to not only navigate but excel in the gritty gangster world.
This new season will continue in the same time period as Ritchie’s 2019 film The Gentlemen, which featured stars like Charlie Hunnam and Matthew McConaughey. However, the TV show will feature a different set of characters, giving viewers a fresh take on the story.
The Netflix series is described as follows: “When aristocratic Eddie inherits the family estate, he finds out it’s the center of a massive weed empire with operators who aren’t planning to leave.”
The Gentlemen was a major success with audiences in 2024, and Guy Ritchie’s reputation for creating stylish, gritty British stories with a unique flair helped make it a hit. The first season also featured Daniel Ings, Ruby Sear, Joel Richardson, and Ruby Jones in key roles, with praise going to the writers and cinematographers for their contributions.
More details about season 2 will be revealed soon, so stay tuned for updates!
