Hulu has just renewed Solar Opposites for a sixth season, and they made the announcement during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Along with the renewal news, the cast shared that there will be a special Halloween episode coming later this year.
Season 5 of Solar Opposites is set to premiere on August 12, and you can check out the trailer below.

What you need to know about Solar Opposites
For those who might not know, Solar Opposites is an adult animated show about a family of aliens trying to adjust to life on Earth. The main cast includes Dan Stevens, Thomas Middleditch, Mary Mack, and Sean Giambrone. This season, the storyline shifts a bit with the characters Terry and Korvo now married, so the focus is on their family life.
Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel, and Sydney Ryan are the executive producers of the series, and it’s produced by 20th Television Animation.
Just a heads-up: Dan Stevens took over the role of Korvo from Justin Roiland in 2023. Roiland was let go from the show earlier that year after facing domestic violence charges, though those charges were later dropped.
Hulu doesn’t have many adult animated shows at the moment. They recently dropped the second season of Hit-Monkey, a Marvel Comics-based show, on July 15. Other past Hulu animated shows include MODOK, The Awesomes, and Crossing Swords. Hulu is also putting more emphasis on live comedy, with a new stand-up comedy hub launching in November featuring a Jim Gaffigan special.
