Olivia Colman will not be returning for the season 3 of Heartstopper.

“I couldn’t do number three. I couldn’t fit it in. I feel awful about that,” said the Oscar winning actress in an interview to Forbes. She played the role of Sarah Nelson and her exit is not because she doesn’t want to as she called the show “one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of.”

Shortly after the premier of Heartstopper season 1, the series got a rare – for Netflix – two season pickup.

The streaming giant announced last week that the upcoming season, comprising of eight episodes, will be releasing in October this year.

The series chronicles around Charlie, a openly gay man who has fallen head over heels for Nick, who is also reciprocating his feelings. However, the previous season ended on the cliffhanger, when Charlie opened up to Nick about all his past trauma, including his eating disorder, but the two of them just fall short of saying the three words.

It is expected that season 3 will pick up from there and explore more of Charlie and Nick.
