Hailey Bieber opens up on her alleged feud with Selena Gomez, says ‘I’ve hated it since the beginning’

Hailey Bieber has attacked the “twisted narratives” that emerged during her “made-up” dispute with Selena Gomez, and I believe this may be the end of the feud allegations.

Earlier this year, the pop culture world was buzzing as tensions in the reported rivalry between Hailey and Selena reached boiling point. Rumours of a quarrel have long circulated, owing to their connection to former teen heartthrob Justin Bieber – Selena dated him before he married Hailey.

Although both performers have already addressed the rumoured animosity, Hailey recently addressed it on the Bloomberg Original series, The Circuit with Emily Chang.

When asked about the reported dispute, Hailey was frank, calling it “awful” and stating she’s “hated [the rumoured feud] since the beginning.”

Emily and Hailey also commented on the idea of two women “being pitted against each other because of a guy” and described it as a “frustrating old narrative”.

“It’s so disappointing that people still behave this way because of a, like, over a man,” Bieber said.

Hailey got quite frank about the rumoured conflict between her and Selena in an interview with Emily Chang on The Circuit after being asked about the TikTok eyebrow scandal.

“I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez. This is not about this pitting between two women and division between two women,” Hailey said.

“It’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted and perpetuated narratives. That can be really dangerous.”

The Rhode Skin founder briefly touched on the IG statements that she and Selena made in an attempt to stop the rumours.

“I don’t like this whole idea of ‘team this person’ and ‘team this person’. I’m just not about that,” she added.

“I want to be able to bring people together. I think that was a really important moment for people to see that you can do that and you can bring people together and it doesn’t have to be about this divisive nature.”

Chang and Bieber then labelled the idea of two women fighting over a guy a “frustrating old narrative”.

“I hate it. I’ve hated it since the beginning,” she said.

“And I think that kind of goes back to a little bit of just being misunderstood when it’s like time and time again I don’t know why I keep having to say, and we keep having to say, that there is ‘no issue’ and ‘there is no problem’. It’s so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man. It’s the world we live in, unfortunately.”
