Dutch American musician Eddie Van Halen passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Edward Lodewijk Van Halen also known as Eddie Van Halen, the guitar god whose group is said to be one of the greatest rock bands of all time. He passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. He was suffering from cancer for a long time.
His son Wolf Van Halen took to social media to announce his father’s death. His post read “I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning. He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop.” Take a look:
Eddie Van Halen was born in the Netherlands and brought up in California. He founded his rock group with his older brother Alex in 1070 and has earned a huge fan base. He was voted number one in a Guitar World magazine reader’s poll for “The 100 Greatest of All Time”, in 2012.
