John Bradley was not aware of what he was getting into with 3 Body Problem. In the upcoming sci-fi epic, the Game of Thrones star is playing a physicist and an entrepreneur.
In a conversation with Deadline, he said that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss initially told him about the character they had written for him, but very little else, “David and Dan got in touch with me and said, “We’re doing this new thing, we’re not going to tell you what it is, but we’ve written this part for you’.”
The relationship forged with Weiss and Benioff on Game of Thrones, and the only character detail shared by them was ‘it was the easiest yes of my career.
The actor added that he has not only known the duo for a decade but has also worked with them enough to know each other that they would give him a character written to his strengths.
The show has been inspired from Chinese author Liu Cixin’s vaunted trilogy The Three Body Problem. The book had been described as unfilmable before Benioff, Weiss, and Woo made the show.
