Eugene and Dan Levy might be reuniting to host the 76th Emmy Awards on September 15, which will be broadcast live on ABC from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This potential hosting gig could be another milestone for the Levy family, who previously made history in 2020 as the first father-son duo to win Emmys in the same year.

The Levys, who co-created Schitt’s Creek, are currently in negotiations with the Television Academy for the hosting role. As of now, no official deal has been confirmed, and neither the Television Academy nor the Levys’ representatives have commented on the discussions.

The Levys have a history of memorable collaborations at award shows. They presented together at the 2020 SAG Awards with a humorous opening speech and presented both the first and last awards of the night. They also guest-hosted Ellen together, and Eugene appeared on Saturday Night Live when Dan was the host in 2021.

Their show, Schitt’s Creek, made headlines with a record-breaking nine Emmy wins in a single year. Eugene was nominated for Lead Actor, Dan for Supporting Actor, and they both won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Dan also received awards for writing and directing, totaling four Emmys.

Dan Levy’s recent work includes writing, directing, producing, and acting in the Netflix movie Good Grief. He also appeared in Jerry Seinfeld’s Unfrosted and the final seasons of Sex Education and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He is represented by WME, MGMT Entertainment, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.

Eugene Levy currently hosts and produces the Apple TV+ travel series The Reluctant Traveler, which has been nominated for two Emmys. He will also be seen in the fourth season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Eugene is represented by UTA, Great North Artists, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.

The 76th Emmy Awards will be directed by Alex Rudzinski and produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay. The ceremony is set to air live on ABC from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
