Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson have been tapped to star in Down Cemetery Road, a thriller series for Apple TV+ based on the book from Gold Dagger Award- winning author Mick Herron.

The project arrived at the streaming giant platform after it has worked with Herron on Slow Horses, which is hugely popular espionage drama based on his Slough House novels. Thus far airing three seasons, the shows starring Gary Oldman has garnered multiple BAFTA nominated and has also been ordered for another season, which is the fifth installment.

Morwenna Banks will not only serve as lead writer but will also be an executive producer of Down Cemetery Road. The show centers on Sarah Tucker, played by Wilson, who became obsessed with finding a neighbor girl who disappeared in the aftermath of a house explosion in a quiet Oxford suburb. Post hiring a private investigator Zoe Boehm, played by Thompson, the pair finds themselves in a tangled conspiracy revealing that people, who were long believed to be dead, are among the living, while those living are rapidly joining the dead.

In addition to Banks, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash of 60Forty Films will also be serving as executive producer, alongside Thompson and Herron.
