Deadpool 3 still doesn’t have a release date, however, Marvel are working to bring the Merc with a Mouth into the MCU.

Originally, it was reported that Bob’s Burgers writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin were employed to write the threequel. It presently appears that the third film is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the first two films.

Deadpool 3 is happening though and so with that in mind, here’s everything we know so far about Deadpool’s MCU debut.

Deadpool 3 Plot

Though Deadpool‘s original director said the threequel didn’t require an R rating to be perfect, the film will be rated R, so don’t worry about that. Feige affirmed in February 2021 that Deadpool has “established” itself as an R-rated franchise.

After Reese and Wernick came on-board the threequel, they’ve guaranteed that the film will not be “Disney-fied”.

“They are gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool, you know? It’s not like any particular joke may be the one that they say: ‘You know, that’s too far’. That could happen, but to this point, it’s been nothing but support,” assured Reese.

It’s not clear how the film’s MCU connection will have a part in the continuity of the series from the first two films or if it’ll effectively be a soft reboot. Does this imply that time travel will play a more important role in Deadpool 3?

Deadpool 3 Cast

If there’s one certainty in life, it’s that Ryan Reynolds will repeat the character of Wade Wilson for Deadpool 3. No other person has affirmed their involvement yet, so we’ll need to wait and see who’s joining Reynolds.

Deadpool 2 introduced us to a range of new heroes too with the X-Force team and albeit some didn’t live long enough, we may see the likes of Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) again.

Fellow teammates Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna) and Russell (Julian Dennison) will surely round out the X-Force team assuming that we see them again, maybe with Peter (Rob Delaney) in tow.

We can pretty safely say Blind Al will be back who portrays the roommate.

Deadpool 3 Potential Release Date

As mentioned above, Deadpool 3 has been affirmed by Marvel Studios, yet we’re still waiting on an official release date.

Marvel already has 4 release dates scheduled for 2024 – February 16, May 3, July 26, and November 8 – so Deadpool 3 could be set for one of those. Once a more specific shooting start date has been affirmed, we should have a better idea.
