Times have changed, and so did the standards of humor. Thus, Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey has apologised for his sketch, from 1992, to Sharon Stone.

Dana called Sharon “such a good sport” and said the comedy moment she appeared in, if aired today, “We would be literally arrested now.”

The sketch in the question was titled Airport Security Sketch, wherein Dana was an Indian security guard and was a part of security team that instructed Sharon to remove her clothing in case she was carrying any dangerous items.

“I want to apologise publicly for the security check sketch where I played an Indian man and we’re convincing Sharon, her character, or whatever, to take her clothes off to go through the security thing,” he said. He added, “It’s so 1992, you know, it’s from another era.”

Sharon admitted that she was not bothered by the sketch, and agreed that it was made in a different time.
