Christopher Nolan used a real Atom bomb in his upcoming movie Oppenheimer?

The recent release of Christopher Nolan has had a real bomb detonation

The first poster for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is out, and it depicts the atomic bomb’s aftermath. The film is a biography of J Robert Oppenheimer, who oversaw the Manhattan Project during WWII, and stars Cillian Murphy as the title character. The billboard depicts a shadow of a guy, probably Murphy, walking through a cloud of fire and smoke. On July 21, 2023, the film will be released in theatres.

Oppenheimer also stars, among others, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, and Rami Malek. The film is based on Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin’s biography of the scientist, American Prometheus. Cillian Murphy previously admitted to The Guardian that he did “an awful amount of reading” for the role. “I’m interested in the guy and what (creating the atomic bomb) does to him.” The mechanics aren’t exactly my thing. “I don’t have the intellectual capacity to comprehend them,” Murphy explained.

“I’ll always show up for Chris, no matter how small the part,” he continued. Chris will call me, and I will be there. Isn’t it amazing that directors are still creating difficult, demanding pictures within the studio structure, on film rather than IMAX? I believe he is flying the flag. He, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Quentin Tarantino are all outstanding directors who create engaging work on a grand scale.”

Cillian Murphy and Christopher Nolan worked extensively together on The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk. This is Murphy’s first time leading a Nolan project.
