Gather around for it’s finally time for Colin and Penelope’s love story!
Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan are ready to play out their characters’ love story. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Bridgerton stars reacted to leading the season 3 of the hit Netflix series.
Nicola said that since her character, Penelope Featherington, and Luke’s Colin, were depicted as “babies” in the first season, “it was very intimidating to step in that mantle of the romantic.”
While Luke agreed, he shared that being real-life friend with Nicola actually made it easier for him.
“I feel like there’s always that question being asked of, is it easier to do… romantic scenes with someone who is your friend of four years or someone you just met for one day?” he said. Further choosing the former option, the actor continued, “I can safely say it’s easier with a friend.”
Speaking about why Penelope and Colin make for a perfect match, Nicola noted that both characters are “overlooked sibling” in their respective families, so it is a big change for them to finally step into the fortune.
