Bridgerton, the Netflix series based on book series by Julia Quinn, which debuted on December 2020 led to a very close bonding between it’s co-stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.
After working as supporting actors for first two seasons they have been promoted to lead characters with their friends-to-lovers story for season 3.

In season 2, Colin and Penelope’s friendship deepens but while Penelope had romantic hopes, Colin had only platonic intentions with her and even broke her heart in the finale by saying he would “never” court her which was overheard by Penelope.

In an interview with ET the same month, she also mentioned how she and Luke couldn’t stop “peeing ourselves with laughter” cause they had to look into each other’s eyes while shooting a romantic scene.
