After The Whale got a 6-minute standing ovation on Sunday at the Venice Film Festival, Brendan Fraser was brought to tears.

Brendan Fraser, most recognized for his work on The Mummy movies, is returning to the big screen in The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky. Brendan plays a crippled guy who weighs 600 pounds (over 270 kg) in the movie, which was just shown at the Venice Film Festival. Videos from the Venice show reveal the picture earned a standing ovation for a very long time, which brought the actor to tears.

In the movie The Whale, a middle-aged father named Charlie wants to get in touch with his daughter, who is 17 years old. The two fell apart after Charlie left his family for his gay boyfriend, who subsequently passed away, according to the movie’s description. Later, out of grief and remorse, Charlie binge-ate. On Sunday, September 4, the movie was shown at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.

Brendan was admired by Dwayne Johnson, who launched his cinematic career with Brendan’s movie, The Mummy Returns. Dwayne tweeted about the screening and shared a video.
