Blake Shelton’s tenure as a coach on The Voice is coming to an end after 12 years and nine victories. The latest 23rd season of the NBC singing competition will be his last. Bryce Leatherwood won his ninth game when he was voted champion in the previous season.

In October 2022, he announced his retirement from the show, leaving fans upset by the news. He developed into one of the most adored coaches during his tenure on the team, noted for his quick wit and down-home charm. As The Voice continues to develop and add fresh talent, fans are intrigued to see what the future holds for both Blake and the programme. Here is what he had to say about leaving.

Blake took to Instagram and shared a post, where he captioned, “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after season 23. This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best.”

With Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera, Blake began coaching in the inaugural season. The show has featured a rotating cast of celebrities in the red chairs after Levine and Shelton quit coaching together in season 16, including Shakira, Nick Jonas, and Gwen Stefani, whom Shelton met on the show and who is now his wife. Kelly Clarkson is back as a coach in the most recent season, along with Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, who are also debuting as coaches on the programme.

Adam Levine spoke on his pal Blake Shelton departing “The Voice” after season 23 at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday. His wife, Behati Prinsloo, and he made their first public appearance together after he was accused of being unfaithful during the outing.

Adam Levine, a fellow former judge on the programme, was not sad about it. At the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party, Levine joked when asked about Blake Shelton’s exit from the show to Entertainment Tonight saying, “It’s about time.”

He is also well-known for his public union with fellow musician Gwen Stefani. Since 2015, the couple has been dating, and they were wed in July 2021. Shelton has made it known that he enjoys spending time with Gwen and the three sons she had from a previous marriage. He has also mentioned how they have come to feel like a family.
