Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Shawn Levy, and the whole Deadpool & Wolverine team have been building excitement for the film with teasers about a Lady Deadpool cameo. But was there another female character we should have been paying attention to all along?
Blake Lively, rumored to be behind the Lady Deadpool mask, attended the New York premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine with her friend, Gigi Hadid. We can’t help but think their outfits were a nod to the film. Lively, married to Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool himself), wore a stunning ruby-red catsuit with black accents that screamed Deadpool’s iconic look. Hadid’s outfit seemed to channel Wolverine, featuring a custom Miu Miu leather top and a maxi skirt in the same yellow as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine suit.
While we’re not claiming that Gigi Hadid is definitely playing a female Wolverine variant in the film, it’s a fun theory to consider. If Ryan Reynolds’ compliment about Lively’s outfit hinted that she’s playing a female Deadpool, then Hadid’s outfit might suggest something special about her role too. The coordinated outfits and the pair’s choice to stick with the theme for the afterparty only add to the intrigue.
As Deadpool & Wolverine promises a slew of surprising cameos, we’re ready to see if these suspicions hold up. All will be revealed when the film hits theaters on July 27.
