Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples, and their romance seems to be going strong. In a recent interview while promoting her new film It Ends With Us, Blake shared a sweet detail about what has kept their relationship special. Speaking with People Magazine, Lively revealed that when she and Reynolds first started dating, he made a habit of sending her flowers every week.
Blake explained, “When my husband and I first got together, he would send me a bouquet of flowers every week.” Along with the flowers, Reynolds would include a card with a short note about something that happened that week, whether it was a funny moment or an emotional comment they shared.
Now happily married for 12 years with four children, Blake fondly recalls these gestures, saying, “It was such a beautiful, romantic thing. Now we have 4,000 children,” joking about their growing family.
In the same interview, Jenny Slate, who stars alongside Lively in It Ends With Us, also shared a touching story about her own husband, Ben Shattuck. Slate described how Shattuck surprised her with a massive basket of hydrangeas. Though she mentioned that hydrangeas are fine, the sheer size of the bouquet—“clouds of hydrangeas”—was what made the gesture so special.
Blake and Ryan’s relationship extends beyond personal life into their professional endeavors. During the premiere of It Ends With Us, Blake revealed that a significant rooftop scene in the film was written by Reynolds. Additionally, they collaborated on the Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine, where Reynolds returned as Deadpool and Lively made a cameo as Lady Deadpool.
It Ends With Us hits theaters on August 9.
