No big little lies here: The show has a potential for third season. Nearly five years after season 2 aired, Nicole Kidman confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that a timeline for new season exists.

The megahit drama, which was based on Liane Moriarty’s novel, which premiered almost a decade ago in 2017, is not over for good after all. The previous season ended in July of 2019 and fans have been wondering ever since if Monterey Five would return to small screen again. Fortunately, one of its stars and executive producer – Nicole Kidman – has confirmed it to ET saying, “We’ve got a timeline for it now.”

“It’s also letting things find their way and I think, you know, the time is… it’s now. We’re obviously all devastated at the loss of Jean Marc Vallee,” she noted referring to the director who helmed the season 1 before passing away in December 2021.

One of the biggest challenge for third season seems to have been finding a time when all five of the lead actresses – Nicole, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz, and Laura Dern – could actually film. Earlier in January 2020, Nicole hinted at the potential scheduling nightmare at HBO’s Television Critics Association winter press tour – before the COVID-19 pandemic took over.
