The BBC has acquired Suits, the smash legal drama that was the most-watched show on Netflix last year.

The corporation has acquired a trio of titles from NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution for BBC iPlayer including The Best Man: The Final Chapters, and St. Denis Medical.

Suits – led by Patrick J Adams as Mike Ross – is set in a New York City law firm, showing the protagonist employing his photographic memory to talk his way into a job as an associate working for successful ‘close’ Harvey Spector, played by Gabriel Macht. The show featured Meghan Markle during the earlier season.

The series was picked by Netflix last year and gained a huge following, racking up 57.7 billion minutes of viewing – the highest year-end total for streaming U.S. ratings body Nielsen had ever recorded. It used to air in the UK on UKTV network Dave. It is unclear whether the show will be still available on Netflix in the UK.
