Despite appreciating the encouragement, Wood discouraged people from seeking dental modifications to mimic her smile. She emphasized that individuals should avoid intentionally altering their teeth to create gaps, highlighting the potential risks of such actions.

Wood, who has been gaining recognition for her role in The White Lotus season 3, has previously spoken about the struggles she faced in developing self-confidence. Recalling her early audition experiences, she admitted to feeling more comfortable in theater settings than in television. She once assumed that her appearance did not align with conventional TV standards, especially after seeing actors with what she described as “perfect Hollywood teeth” on platforms like Netflix.

Reflecting on her journey, Wood acknowledged the messages she had received from fans who felt inspired by her. She recalled instances where individuals shared how her presence on screen made them feel more confident about their own appearance. Wood also credited model Georgia May Jagger for helping shift perceptions about gapped teeth, particularly after Jagger became the face of Rimmel London in 2009.

Recently, Wood shared on social media how she had embraced her unique features, recounting how seeing representation in the media influenced her decision to confidently highlight her distinctive smile.
