“I am very much aware of the social media of the times that we’re living in; I also have a social media account. But it’s a very conscious decision that I don’t want to tell you what I ate for breakfast. I don’t want to tell you that I got injured in the gym yesterday,” Gautam said.

The actress, known for her roles in Uri: The Surgical Strike and OMG 2, questioned the necessity of constant social media updates. “Who am I addressing? What is it going to do? Of course, it is going to be another story for different portals to pick up, but is it necessary? Do I want to be so accessible? Do I want you to already come with a preconceived notion about me? No,” she added.

Gautam also referenced a senior actor’s philosophy, stating, “A very senior actor once said that the less you know about me, the better it is—the easier it is for me to convince you about the role I’m playing.” She believes that maintaining a sense of mystery allows audiences to see actors for their characters rather than their real-life personalities.

Her views align with her personal approach to privacy, particularly regarding her family. Recently, she and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, decided to keep their newborn son, Vedavid, away from the media spotlight. “A child deserves a childhood like any other. It has a psychological impact, and we want him to just enjoy this life, to enjoy this blessing,” Gautam stated in an interview.
