Coldplay’s highly anticipated Ahmedabad concert, part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, has sparked massive demand for tickets, leading to shocking resale prices. Tickets for the January 25, 2025, performance at Narendra Modi Stadium, originally priced between ₹2,500 and ₹12,500 on BookMyShow, are now being listed for as high as ₹1.44 lakh on the resale platform Viagogo.

This sharp price hike has left fans frustrated and debating the fairness of resale platforms. Viagogo, a multinational ticket marketplace, has faced backlash in the past for inflating prices and selling tickets at exorbitant rates. While the company states it only acts as a marketplace for individuals to resell tickets, the lack of regulation over pricing has drawn criticism from fans and consumer rights groups alike.

In Ahmedabad, tickets for premium sections like the “Center” and “Section A” have soared past ₹1 lakh, with listings such as ₹1.37 lakh for Section A seats and ₹1.44 lakh for Center Row tickets. Even the floor-standing tickets, initially affordable, are now priced upwards of ₹20,000. Many fans on social media have expressed disappointment over these inflated prices, making it difficult for genuine concertgoers to attend the event.

Viagogo has reiterated its position, clarifying that it has no partnership with BookMyShow or any other official ticketing platform for Coldplay’s concert. A spokesperson emphasized that tickets listed on their site come from various sources, including fans who can no longer attend, corporate sponsors, and event organizers.

With Coldplay fever gripping the nation, fans are left with limited options. While some are willing to pay the steep prices, others are opting to wait and hope for better availability closer to the event date. As the buzz continues, concertgoers are urged to exercise caution and verify listings to avoid scams or overpaying for resale tickets.
