Veteran actress Neena Gupta recently released her autobiography titled ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ which was inaugurated virtually by Kareena Kapoor Khan last month. In her autobiography, the ‘Badhaai Ho’ actress made several shocking revelations that twirled the internet. In her autobiography, she has also mentioned her first marriage with Amlan Kumar Ghose which lasted for a very short period and she revealed that the reason she got married to him was ‘childish’.

In ‘Sach Kahun Toh’, Neena has mentioned that Amlan and she met for the first time at an inter-college event and “hit it off immediately”. Amlan was a student of IIT Delhi and the couple had many “secret” dates either on the campus, at his hostel or near her house.

As per the book, Amlan’s parents lived in a different city but his grandfather lived in the actor’s neighbourhood, which brought Amlan to spend a lot of festivals and holidays with his grandparents and Neena. The actor also revealed that it was “strictly forbidden” for her to have a boyfriend but the whole understanding and experience was quite thrilling. After keeping her relationship a secret from her mother for a very long time, Neena eventually told her after she and Amlan got ‘serious’ about each other. Although her mother was not cheerful and happy about their decision, the couple yet ended up getting married.

Neena and Amlan got married in an ‘Arya Samaj’ ceremony in the presence of close colleagues and family. Since Amlan’s parents were not in favour of their son having a relationship with a non-Bengali girl, the couple did not tell them.

After their wedding, the duo eventually went on their vacation and returned “very, very happy,” she said. Neena and Amlan then moved to a small flat in Rajender Nagar. As Amlan searched for a job, Neena finished her masters in Sanskrit from Delhi University. But troubles began rising when “unfortunately,” Amlan “viewed things differently.” Neena wrote that Amlan believed that she would settle and will become a housewife but she “had become a bit too ambitious and didn’t see herself “ever being a regular housewife.”
