It will be one year since actor Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2021. The movies he has done is proof that Irrfan was an expert in the craft of acting and the scripts he chose spoke to the audience on so many different levels. In a throwback video, he can be seen speaking to Indian Express about actors and their off-screen images.

“When I started in movies, I observed that there was a kind of disparity which comes when you watch a film, and you start feeling that the on-screen creatures are special and you (the viewer) are a substandard creature,” he added. He said that he wanted to do movies and roles that the audience could relate to and feel that they could do it too. Only then is it worthwhile to be an actor, Irrfan said.

The actor had also opened about how felt about the audience looking up to actors as heroes. “I could see people are finding them (actors) heroes. They are not heroes. They are glamorous people,” he said.

“There are real heroes who affect people’s lives. They work selflessly just to change people’s life. Those are heroes. For a healthy society, at least, aspirations should be directed in the right direction,” Irrfan added during the interview.
