During the 2017 Screen Awards Deepika Padukone sat down for a round of ‘Khatiya with Karan’, which was a desi dig at Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee with Karan. Playing word-association games, making light remarks about each other’s personal lives, and talking about their love for Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika can be found being teased by the filmmaker for her then-rumored affair with Ranveer Singh, whom she went on to marry in just a year later.
As such, she knew exactly how many measures of rice are required to prepare some ‘khichdi’ for four, she invariably demands more water while eating pani puri from chaat-wallahs, and made an attempt at persuading Karan that she has been carrying specially packed homemade paranthas for herself on set. An astonished Karan said, “What nonsense.” Deepika insisted that she makes some food for herself, and said, “‘I’m very domesticated, Karan.”
Karan did not buy her reasoning. He said mockingly, looking at the fabulous dress, “It shows, you look domesticated from head to toe. You have a double personality.” He even made a laughing stock of her when she said that she would like to gift Ranveer a head massage. “You would’ve already done that, wouldn’t you?” KJo said.
Deepika and Ranveer got married in a private ceremony in the Italy’s Lake Como district in November 2018 and are currently expecting their first baby together.
