The atmosphere remains heavy with emotion as artistes from across generations continue to reach the venue to honour one of Indian cinema’s most iconic stars.
Akshay Kumar, who has often spoken about his deep admiration for Dharmendra and called him one of the biggest inspirations of his career, was seen making his way into the cremation ground amid tight security. His arrival reflects the profound respect Dharmendra commanded across the film fraternity.

• Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, overseeing arrangements for their father’s final rites.
• Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, who rushed to support the family.
• Siddharth Roy Kapur, among the first from the industry to arrive.
• Members of the extended Deol family and close friends from the industry.
The stream of arrivals continues as fans line up outside the crematorium for a final glimpse of the superstar they adored for decades.
Earlier developments
Earlier in the day, Mumbai witnessed concern as an ambulance was spotted outside Dharmendra’s Juhu residence. Within hours, the devastating confirmation of his passing at the age of 89 plunged fans and colleagues into mourning.
A family statement regarding the cause of death and detailed rites is still awaited.
Industry continues to grieve
Tributes have poured in since morning. Film director Karan Johar called it “the end of an era” in a heartfelt Instagram post, describing Dharmendra as a “mega star” with an “enigmatic screen presence” and “the best human being” in the industry.
Fans also resurfaced Dharmendra’s iconic old video where he said:
“Salman mera teesra beta hai… yeh mujhpe gaya hai.”
