Vijay Raaz leaves Sherni’s set to return to Mumbai amidst molestation case

Vijay Raaz was arrested in a molestation case during the shoot of the movie Sherni. He returns to Mumbai without finishing the shoot.

Vijay Raaz has been booked by Gondia Police, earlier during this week after a woman filed a complaint against the actor on Monday (2nd November).

As per a report in Mid-Day, Vijay was arrested by police after a woman filled a FIR against him, he was released on bail the same day and travelled back to Mumbai without completing the shoot for the movie. The film’s cast and crew paused the shooting on Wednesday (4th November) and have now returned to filming as they aim to complete the schedule by this weekend. The complaints of workplace harassment are taken seriously and the ICC will probe the molestation charges against Vijay Raaz.

According to Pinkvilla, Vijay left for Mumbai on Tuesday after he was granted bail. He didn’t even return to the hotel where he had been put up. The production head informed the crew on Wednesday that Vijay won’t be resuming work. Though he had two scenes remaining, Vikram Malhotra and Amit Masurkar were certain that he should not be allowed on the set, in keeping with Abundantia Entertainment’s zero-tolerance policy for workplace harassment. The development to the portal and revealed that the actor did not even complete his remaining two scenes.

The movie is produced by Vikram Malhotra and directed by Amit Masurkar, also stars actor Vidya Balan in the lead role. The director and producer of the film have also set up an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to probe the matter.
