Bollywood Actress Vidya Balan, was recently seen in the movie ‘Sherni’. She played the role of Vidya Vincent, who is a forest officer and strives hard to save forest and animal life. Recently, in an interview, Vidya expressed her views on women, in general. She thinks that every women is a sherni (lioness) in the real life.
During a conversation with ANI, she said, “Every woman is a Sherni. A few of them are bold and badass; while others are introverted just like Vidya Vincent, but does that make them inferior? I think they have the ability to do the right tasks in the right ways— even if that makes her liable for punishment.”
Further she mentioned the struggle, her character had to face in the film and underlined the issue of male dominated society. She said, “Vincent gets a transfer in the movie but she continues to work with honesty! So, I think every woman is a Sherni.”
Vidya told that she was very excited to shoot the movie when she came to know that the movie will be shot in a jungle. She said, “Amit didn’t have the script when he came to me, he just narrated to me the plot and the concept of the film and I was so impressed by the very fact that it will be shot in a real jungle.”
Sherni, directed by Amit V. Masurkar was released on June 18. Apart from Vidya Balan, the movie stars brilliant actors like Sharad Saxena, Ila Arun, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala and Neeraj Kabi. The movie is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
