Vicky Kaushal remembers Sardar Udham Singh on his 81st death anniversary by sharing a photo on his Instagram story

Vicky shared a story on Instagram paying tribute to the Indian Revolutionary, Sardar Udham Singh. His story was captioned, “My humble tribute to the great Indian Revolutionary #SardarUdhamSingh on his 81st death anniversary today.” Vicky is playing the role of Sardar Udham Singh in the biopic the revolutionary. The movie is directed by the master director, Soojit Sircar under the banner of Rising Sun Films. Vicky has a lot of commitments in the pipeline such as the biopic of late Sam Manekshaw, former Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army named “Sam Bahadur.

This is the first time Vicky Kaushal will be featuring in any biopic. The announcement of the movie came in 2019 after which a poster was released with Vicky in it. The poster created a buzz among the fans of Vicky but they were awaiting something more to come up. Born and raised in Punjab Vicky feels a familiarity with the narrative of the story as many memories of childhood are recalled with this film. In one of his Instagram posts that he wrote, “Running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I realise that I would day get a chance to re-live and depict the anger and anguish of the lesser-known martyr, revolutionary… SARDAR UDHAM SINGH.”

Sardar Udham Singh is known for assassinating General Dyer, the key conspirator of the Jallianwala Baugh Tragedy in which he ordered to open fire at innocent women and children who were gathered in a peaceful procession.
