Vicky Kaushal remembers Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on his death anniversary, shares UNSEEN video

Today, i.e. 27th June,’20 marks the 12th death anniversary of the country’s best-known soldier and 1971 war hero, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who was the chief of Indian Army when India fought the Bangladesh Liberation war against Pakistan. Popularly called ‘Sam Bahadur’, he was the first Indian officer to be promoted to the rank of a field marshal.

After so many years, the life, times and contributions of heroic Field Marshal Sam would be brought to life by director Meghna Gulzar in the eponymous film ‘Sam’. Vicky Kaushal, who has established himself as a versatile actor in over five years, has been roped in for Meghna’s next.

Before this, Vicky has worked with Gulzar in the movie ‘Raazi’ and he will be seen essaying the role of Sam. Today, on Marshal Sam’s death anniversary, Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram account to share a glimpse of Sam in a small clip. In this clip, Vicky is unrecognizable and we are eagerly waiting to see this biopic on theatres. Along with the video, he captioned, “Remembering one of India’s finest- Field Marshal #SamManekshaw. This journey is going to be very special! with @meghnagulzar #RonnieScrewvala @Bharat_rawail @rsvpmovies @bhavani.iyer @ishantanus [sic]”

This movie is produced by Ronnie Screwval, who is backing the project with his RSVP banner and the movie is set to take off in 2021, as Meghna once quoted in an interview to a media portal that this movie is not a biopic but rather she has to pick a narrative to tell Sam’s whole life and his contributions. The movie is going to be grand as it will showcase accession of Kashmir, Indo-Pak war, Partition and much more in the narrative.
