Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala, a veteran Bollywood producer of multi-starrer masala films,’ died here on Monday due to cardiac arrest, according to his son Mushtaque Nadiadwala. He was 92 years old when he died at Breach Candy Hospital at 3 a.m. today after suffering several diseases. Gaffarbhai, as he was affectionately called in the film business, is survived by his three sons, Feroze, Hafiz, and Mushtaque, and his three daughters and his nephew, well-known film-maker Sajid Nadiadwala.
Meanwhile, several Bollywood actors were saddened by the death of iconic producer AG Nadiadwala. Bollywood actor, Ajay Devgn sent a sincere homage on his official Twitter account “Deepest condolences on the passing of Shri Gaffarbhai Nadiadwala. My father & he were associates during the golden era of our cinema. 🕉 Shanti AG Nadiadwala saab. My condolences to the Nadiadwala family,” Ajay tweeted.

A G Nadiadwala started his career as a film producer in 1953. He produced almost 50 Hindi films over his nearly 69-year career. He is well known for producing the film Mahabharat (1965), starring Pradeep Kumar and Dara Singh. It remains India’s sole film based on the epic Mahabharat. He has produced successful films such as Welcome (2007), Hera Pheri (2000), Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), and others.
