Veteran actor Dilip Kumar called for eternal rest today morning at 7:30 am. He was 98.
The actor was admitted to Hinduja Hospital on June 29, owing to difficulties in breathing.”
His spouse Saira Banu on Monday had verified that he was healing and might get a discharge soon.
She had also shared an update about his condition on Twitter. “We are grateful for God’s infinite mercy on Dilip Sahib that his health is improving. We are still in hospital and request your prayers and duas so that Insha’Allah he is healthy and discharged soon. Saira Banu Khan” read her tweet via Dilip Kumar’s official account.
The actor had prevailed in and out of hospital over the previous few years with ailments varying from a kidney disorder to pneumonia.
A few years ago, the actor celebrated his 94th birthday in the hospital where he was being dealt with fever and an inflated leg.
Before the imposition of the nationwide lockdown in March the previous year, actor Dilip Kumar disclosed that he and his wife, actress Saira Banu, were under “detailed isolation and quarantine” as a precautionary criterion.
