Vedang Raina is all set for the release of his next Bollywood film Jigra, alongside Alia Bhatt in the Vasan Bala – directed film which will release in theatres on October 11. Jigra is the tale of an emotional sister – played by Alia – who goes to all lengths to safeguard her brother – essayed by Vedang.
Recently, Vedang talked about all his emotional and mental stress he felt while shooting some scenes for the film. The intense scenes have been mostly taken within a jail premise. Speaking to Times Now, Vedang said that character had even troubled him mentally and that the experience was mentally taxing. “It was extremely traumatic… Whenever I think of the time when I was on set shooting, especially the jail sequences, I feel like I had become a different human being. I was putting myself through a lot mentally.”
The actor further shared how he prepared for this role, saying hard it was to immerse himself in emotions he had never experienced before. “I did a lot of prep to get into that headspace because I was dealing with an emotion I’ve obviously never felt before—being in jail and waiting for your death,” he said. To really delve into the essence of his character’s emotional turmoil, Vedang referred to documentaries on prisons and death row inmates, which really helped him get to the intensity that was required from the role.
