Varun Dhawan recently appeared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, wherein he showed his emotional side as he reflected on the sudden death of his driver, Manoj, who had been with him for 26 years. The actor shared that due to Manoj’s passing away, his outlook towards life was changed and pulled himself out of the ‘bubble’ he was living in.
“There is a Varun Dhawan before and after 35,” he stated. Fighting back tears, Varun recalled, “I used to see myself in an idealistic way—that I’m a hero, and I can save the day because I literally play a hero onscreen. But on that day, I failed myself.”
VD further shared that he was quite close to Manoj, who passed away suddenly while they were working. The actor revealed giving him CPR, and was rushed to hospital. However, despite of reaching Lilavati Hospital on time, Manoj passed away in his arms. “It was hard to see how casual was his passing. It just happened like that,” said Varun.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Baby John. He has interesting movies lined up such as No Entry 2 with Anil Kapoor, Border 2 with Sunny Deol, and Sanskari Sunny Ki Tulsi Kumari with Janhvi Kapoor.
